From Frustrated Homeowner to Founder
When my wife Michelle and I moved to Mesa with our daughters, Haley and Brooke, we were chasing the classic Arizona dream—a backyard pool. But what came next was unexpected. Many local pool companies didn’t return my calls, and the few bids I received were vague, overpriced, and came with timelines that stretched for months and some over a year. As a general contractor with decades of experience, I knew it didn’t have to be that way.
Determined to create a space my family could enjoy, I decided to build our pool myself. From permits to the final splash, it was finished in just a couple of months. Word quickly got around, and before long, I was helping friends and neighbors do the same. That’s how Apricity Pools was born—out of passion, pride, and a better way of doing things.
Though our company is young, I bring over 30 years of experience as a custom home builder and a deep commitment to quality and continued learning. When you work with Apricity, you can expect the same level of care and craftsmanship that went into building my own family’s backyard retreat.
A New Chapter in Backyard Dreams
For 35 years, my career revolved around risk and corporate security. While fulfilling, I felt a pull towards a new challenge, one that resonated with a past passion: building swimming pools. When my friend Mike embarked on his pool-building venture in Arizona, I knew it was time for a change.

Katie and I are proud parents to three young adult children, Conner, Ryan, and Haley. In our spare time we enjoy attending concerts, sporting events, golfing, cycling, and boating.
